Growing up as a little girl in the Ukraine our owner Lana dreamed of owning her own cafe and bakery. Lana realised this dream in 2012 when she and her family opened the Sawmill.
When it came to renovating the Sawmill the whole family worked on the look and feel of the restaurant. Helping to add finishing touches and giving the space the cozy and welcoming feel you see today. As you would expect, during the renovation, there was scrap wood and sawdust everywhere which led to the working title of ‘The Sawmill’.
When it came to choosing our name, we all agreed that the name Sawmill was best suited. Working together we have created a place that is crafted with love and passion. We hope that you feel as happy here as we do.
We are located in Stratford, London just a ten minute walk from the main tube, DLR and overground stations, Buses 276 and 473 stop directly outside the Sawmill. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am – 8pm (Breakfast served till 1pm). Saturday and Sunday we are open 9am – 11pm (Breakfast served till 2pm).
